Domestically Bred Black Suri

This beautiful black male was born on our ranch in 1997, and was a wonderful surprise.  At birth he showed a rare black over red vicuna pattern, down to
the red horizontal stripe under his chin.  HIs fleece (left) has a nice lock and plenty of luster and has maintained a lovely soft handle as he has matured.  He has outstanding coverage, and one of the densest fleeces we have seen on a suri, making it impossible for us to leave his fleece on for more than one season.  He has a large strong-boned frame, a beautiful head, and a
distinguished presence.  His name means "with majesty."

Maestoso came in third at the Spokane Alpacafest in 1998, as a yearling, in a class of light animals.  His fleece won a blue ribbon at AOBA 2001.

Maestoso has nine beautiful offspring on the ground, all with excellent conformation and fleece, and is expecting more this summer.
